Amtrak train 371, the Pere Marquette, arrives to the Tulip City of Holland, Michigan, Oct. 16, 2010, passing along the fall colors on CSX’s Grand Rapids Subdivision. Amtrak locomotive No. 832, a General Electric P40DC leading the train, was rehabilitated by the passenger railroad using a U.S. Department of Transportation TIGER grant.

Residents of Manton greet the arrival of the Michigan Northern Arrow excursion to the 86th annual Manton Area Harvest Festival, Sept. 6. The excursion, sponsored by the Blue Water Michigan Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society and operating on the Great Lakes Central Railroad, ran from Owosso to the resort town of Petoskey over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
