Amtrak beefs up rail service to New Buffalo

From the Chicago Sun-Times

In other Amtrak news, starting today, passengers on the Wolverine Service to Pontiac, Mich., and the Blue Water to Port Huron can now travel directly to New Buffalo, Mich., for a day at the beach.

A new schedule allows day trips to “Harbor Country” on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. Six daily trains will begin stopping at New Buffalo, rather than the current four daily stops. The New Buffalo station, which opened last fall, is in sight of the public beach.

Fares from Chicago range from $9 to $22, and children 2-15 are half-fare with an adult.
