Detroit — A consortium of private and public investors is looking into a plan to build a new railroad tunnel running beneath the Detroit River.
Announcement of the plan was made today by the Windsor Port Authority, the Canadian Pacific Railroad and the Borealis Infrastructure, a division of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System.
According to the newly formed Continental Rail Gateway (CRG) consortium, the new tunnel would cost $400 million and would take three years to construct.
