From The Grand Rapid Press:
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood attended Saturday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Rapid bus system’s new Wealthy Operations Center.
LaHood and U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit., appeared alongside city leaders during a ceremony at the $32 million facility at 333 Wealthy St. SW.
Of that project’s cost, $10.6 million came from federal stimulus funds and $17.4 million from federal transit dollars, according to LaHood’s office.
LaHood’s appearance was not open to the public.
